Type and Structure
Common Types: The shock absorbers of Renault trucks mainly include types such as double-tube hydraulic shock absorbers and pneumatic shock absorbers. The double-tube hydraulic shock absorber consists of two tubes, an inner tube and an outer tube. The piston moves inside the inner tube. The entry and exit of the piston rod will cause a change in the volume of oil in the inner tube. It needs to exchange oil with the outer tube to maintain balance. Therefore, there are four valves, namely the compression valve and extension valve on the piston, and the circulation valve and compensation valve between the inner and outer tubes. The pneumatic shock absorber has a floating piston installed at the lower part of the cylinder. A sealed air chamber is formed at the lower part and filled with high-pressure nitrogen. The working piston has compression valves and extension valves that change the cross-sectional area of the channel according to the movement speed.
Internal Structure: Inside the shock absorber, a piston rod with a piston is inserted into the cylinder. The cylinder is filled with oil. There are throttle holes on the piston, allowing the oil on both sides of the piston to complement each other. Viscous oil generates damping when passing through the throttle holes. The smaller the throttle hole and the greater the viscosity of the oil, the greater the damping force. Some shock absorbers also have disc-shaped leaf spring valves at the outlet of the throttle hole. When the pressure increases, the valve is pushed open, which can adjust the opening of the throttle hole and change the damping magnitude.
